The season finale of The Bachelorette was certainly different! Desiree sent Drew home almost right off the bat. He was a complete gentleman about it. Then Des was trying to decide what to do about the last guy, Chris, who she had a connection with but her feelings for him were overshadowed by her feelings for Brooks. In the end she picks Chris after all and it was sweet but also left me wondering how she could just get engaged when she hadn't even been sure of her feelings a week before. I dunno, I'm not entirely sure they will last.
This weeks episode was The Men Tell All, which is when some of the men who were sent home come back and have an interview with the host Chris Harrison. They get to voice their opinions and see Desiree again.
Skipping over watching the fans watching Bachelorette..
I like seeing Ali and Emily again but...neither of them made it work with the men they got engaged to on the show.
Haha, love the older lady in the audience. I don't know many older ladies who watch! Grandma, do you watch?!
I was thinking the same thing as Michael when the Fantasy Suite guy said he was surprised the audience didn't boo him. It's because we didn't remember him!
Juan Pablo... *swoon*
Ben is like a toddler, doing whatever it takes to get attention- even if it's negative.
Oh, snap! Ben's sons mom told one of the guys he didn't even file for custody until after the show. I wish she came on the show!
I never picked up on the fact James said he didn't say those things, and yet defends why he said it. o_O
Lol, so many women are making faces while James is talking.
I hate myself for finding myself semi-believing James. I can understand talking about options for after the show if she didn't pick him.
I vote Juan Pablo for next Bachelor! And Zak. A double Bachelor!
I don't get it. How is he still single? Girls can go on dates any day of the week, not just the weekends! He'll probably find someone soon!
I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time she was confronting James. Whew!
Jaw...dropped. Zak, you're a stud. Good move with that goodbye song.
What the heck is going to happen?! Everyone was crying...
It's time for Desiree to go see the homes and family's of the remaining guys! These are always my favorite episodes.
I love Zak mixing it up with giving sno-cones to kids. So random and fun.
Zaks family's faces when Zak tells them how he was shirtless the first night was priceless.
Desiree fits in well with his family!
I totally teared up when they played her the song. I'm a sucker for music.
I like Drew but he just seems so...stiff. I dunno, he's a little too prep schoolish for me.
Drew is really sweet with his handicapped sister!
He may be preppy but he is pretty to look at :)
He seems really confident that they will end up together.
I forgot Chris was still around.
They seem pretty natural with each other.
Chris' dad adjusting Des' back would probably be awkward but at the same time- free adjustment for her and free advertising for him!
Chris getting his nose adjusted was just plain weird and gross.
Brooks is unsure of his relationship with Desiree. I can't really blame him- it's not a normal relationship.
Salt Lake City is gorgeous!
I love Brooks' big family!
"Thanks for not being a huge waste of time!- Brooks' brother. Awesome.
Oh jeez, Desiree's brother again. I don't think she should have her brother meet the guys until long after the show ends. After she has made her own decision.
Zak's going home. I didn't see that coming! Poor Zak.
He's got to be the next Bachelor.
I wish I could find the ring he threw out the window!!
Week 7 of The Bachelorette. It's getting close to the end! She's got to choose someone, right? I hate what they do with the editing to make it seem like it's going to end badly for everyone.
Woh- Jackie, Catherine, and Lesley are there to help Des and meet the guys. How fun!
The girl talk made me smile. So funny.
Brooks seems like a good guy. Just easy going and nice.
Brooks and Des standing so close to the edge above the ocean made me SO nervous. Back away from the edge slowly!!!
I love their picnic spot above/in the clouds on the mountain.
Why was Brooks opening his eyes while they were kissing? AWKWARD.
Chris and Desiree go boating and have a picnic on the shore. They write a love poem together and put it in a bottle. Cheesy!
Michael G. bugs me. Go home!
Blah, fast forward...
Drew is worth looking at! Zak isn't bad to look at either. ;)
Go carting looks like so much fun!
Lol the race with the guys was funny. Glad Drew wasn't a sore loser.
That seemed like the least awkward 2 on 1 date.
Send Michael home!!
YES!
Michael, did you want Desiree for yourself or for your mom??
I can't wait for next weeks episode! The dates where they meet the families are always interesting!
It's Wednesday already, which means it's time for my recap of my thoughts through this weeks episode of The Bachelorette!
This week looks like it's going to be full of drama!
This week they get to travel in Barcelona. I would totally go on the show just to get to travel if I was single! Well, maybe not. But wouldn't it be cool to travel the world for free?
Drew gets the one on one date. Also, he just looks so preppy!
I don't really see much of a romantic connection between Desiree and Drew. They seem like they would be good friends and nothing more.
Okay, I take that back. That kiss was intense.
I love listening to Juan Pablo talk.
I think it's funny that the guys on the group date thought they could beat professional soccer players just because they were women. Hello, they are professionals!
I am so confused about James. Is he a bad guy there for the wrong reasons? Or were things he said misconstrued?!
I really can't believe the vast difference between the Zak from the first episode (creepy, overly tan, shirt off all night, jumping in the pool in a speedo) and the Zak now. I wouldn't have kept him around the first week but I'm glad Desiree did because I like him now!
Keep Juan Pablo and send Mikey and James home!!
Casey, James, and Juan Pablo go home. Poor Juan Pablo :(
Oh my gosh...scenes for the future episodes pretty much gave the whole thing away. Right?! Drew's going to break her heart and she is going to give up and want to go home? Send all the guys away and call it quits? Do you think she would do that?
Welcome to the Bachelorette recap! This is a weekly post I do with some thoughts on each episode as I watch. Feel free to comment with a link to any similar posts you do too!
The group gets to travel Europe this week! Hello, Germany! My sister is living there right now!
I like that Desiree and Chris are just wandering around like normal tourists (minus the camera crew) and goofing off.
I think it's good that Bryden is deciding earlier rather than later that Des isn't for him, but did he have to interrupt her date with Chris to tell her that?
Chris is smooth with that poetry he writes! It reminds me of Michael! In fact, their relationship is kind of reminding me of mine and Michaels.
It's never a surprise anymore when they have their own private concert after dinner. It happens almost every time. So why do they act surprised!? Annoying.
Sledding down those mountains looks so fun!
I hate how Ben thinks he has the two on one date in the bag.
Awkward...but totally enjoying Ben getting called out.
She said she might want to let both of them go home. I wouldn't be surprised and as long as Ben goes, I don't care much haha.
THANK YOU!! SENDING BEN HOME!!! I'm so happy she made the smart choice.
Now I guess the next jerk that needs to go home is James. I don't think she's going to send him home this week since she isn't doing a cocktail party to talk to them all first. (Therefore not giving anyone the chance to tell her things he has said.)
It's week 4 of The Bachelorette- Desiree's season! Here are my thoughts throughout this weeks episodes.
When I see Atlantic City I can't help but think of one of my favorite movies as a kid- Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. Has anyone else seen it?
I'm glad she picked Brad to go on the one on one.
I think it's creepy how they position the dates to be within distant view of where the rest of the group is so sometimes they can spot the date happening. That would totally mess with my head!
It's too bad the conversation didn't flow with Des and Brad but better to figure that out early on. Bye bye Brad!
A pageant!? I love seeing what they make the guys do every week. Hahaha!
Zak W. is completely different than I first thought.
I think soldier boy is going to snap. I bet he's the one that punches Ben in the previews!
I got so caught up in the hurricane Sandy scenes and the date they gave to the older couple for the anniversary they missed because of it. So sweet.
It's the third week of my Bachelorette Recap. Here are my thoughts through episode 3!
Group date: Team dodgeball. I don't blame her...I'd wanna see how the guys compete too!
It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Or in this case, someone gets hurt and they keep playing. Poor Brooks.
There's another single dad and this one seems to be genuine.
I kept thinking it was going to be Ben that had the girlfriend back home but nope! Dang. Just some other guy. So there's at least two jerks in the group. Surprised? Not really, haha. You're bound to get a couple of sour grapes in the bunch. It never ceases to gross me out when there is kissing with more than one person in a day.
Ahhh what a jerk! He slept with her and left for the show the next day?! I'd punch him.
Brandon is in need of some therapy, I think. He obviously hasn't healed from his past.
Santa Ana winds! We know those well!
The one on one date was a bust.
Group date again. Being stuntmen? And dressed up in old cowboy outfits? Awesome. Smiling the whole time over here!
Ben's being such a snake. "And remember...it's our secret." That grates against my nerves and throws up red flags.
So some guy goes home that I don't remember (I think he's the last one to go that I didn't even remember saying more than a few words) and Brandon goes home too. Sometimes I seriously worry about people when they leave the show so upset. Brandon was "in love" with Des...they barely even talked. I think he just tends to cling on to anyone who is nice to him. I really hope he seeks help.
Brooks gets the first date with Desiree. I don't hate him...
Could Desiree be any skinnier? She must have like 2% body fat.
Again, the baby blue Bentley. Jealous!
Lol wow, Des, taking him to try on tux's while you try on wedding dresses? On a first date? I'm not sure how I feel about that, haha. The green tux was funny though.
Looking over LA at the Hollywood sign..he said it's like floating on clouds. That's the smog, honey.
Anyone who has watched the show before isn't fooled by the dramatic music as she decides to drive on a closed road. Oh please, it's just a "surprise" dinner on the bridge.
"Your parents are divorced so how does that shape how you feel about marriage?"- Desiree
"Um....uh...ummm...."- Brooks. But then he did follow the stuttering with a good answer.
Group date time...a rap video? I would be SO in.
So, the guy that brought the kid last week that made us all swoon? Ben? Totally over him. Gag.
I love that the rap video is making fun of past guys that were "there for the wrong reasons".
"I'm so proud of my men today"- Des. Bahaha!
Creepy shirtless guy from last episode isn't as creepy now thank goodness. He has clothes on and his spray tan faded. Both work in his favor.
Looks like I'm not the only one disliking Ben now.
Brandon got super serious with her...I think he likes her too much.
Bryden gets the second one on one date. What a cool thing to do- a little road trip on the CA coast!
Bryden seems like he has a good head on his shoulders....and that "Just kiss me already" kiss part was so cute!
I'm glad the men are calling Ben out on being there to promote his business and that he hasn't mentioned his son since the first night. What a winner. Not.
It's still only the second episode so guys are getting the rose that I don't even remember them showing before...which also means I don't really feel too bad for the ones she sends home. They shouldn't feel too rejected or invested this early on anyway.
I never really talk about how I watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, mainly because I used to be one of those people who judged the women who watched this crap. But for some reason (probably my blog and twitter friends), I decided to start watching a few seasons ago. Even though I realize it's stupid and unrealistic, I can't help but enjoy the mind numbing drama. :)
I've decided that I'm going to try to start blogging my thoughts as I watch the episodes each week.
This seasons Bachelorette is Desiree...
The recap of her and Sean reminded me just how sad it was when she was saying goodbye to him. I liked that she said she just wants to make someone happy.
What a lucky girl driving that adorable cute blue convertible!
I don't think they've ever showed the Bachelorette out and about the town enjoying the area by themselves! How many outfit changes was that? 4?
.
Watching the guys backgrounds always makes me do facepalms and shake my head.
Woah...I was just asking Michael how long the sign spinners have been around and now this guy is saying he is the man behind it and it was started a couple years ago. *Twilight Zone Tune*
Gotta love awkward introductions! I love when people do stupid things to stand out.
OMG. Seriously, dude? You gave her a "fantasy suite key" as your "hello"? What a jerk!
Abs guy...gag. Plus it looks like his creepy face was Photoshopped on someone else's body.
The tie his shoe/proposal fake out was funny.
Okay seriously? The guy with the little boy was too adorable!
Hashtag guy is #annoying.
Ben gets the first rose! Good choice, Des. (He's the one with the kid.)
An impromptu soccer game in suites? Only on this show. Only to impress a girl!
Drew seems cute.
Again with the fantasy suite guy? So glad she gave him the boot.
Why did she keep the creepy shirtless guy?
Overall thoughts? I like Desiree and so far I agree with the weirdos she sent home but I kind of wish she had sent more of them home that she obviously wasn't into. Then again, I always think this about the beginning. If I were the Bachelorette I would probably send home a ton of guys in the first two episodes and then really get to know the rest of them better. Why waste time on the losers? Haha! Hey, I got married at 20 for a reason. No games here! I knew what I wanted and went for it.
Because I went to a BBQ on Tuesday, by Wednesday night a bunch of my friends and I got majorly SICK. We are all pretty sure it was salmonella because it lasted 4 days. I was severely dehydrated and had a rapid heartbeat, fever, bathroom trips galore (I know, tmi- too bad). But FINALLY I am feeling better.
Me: Honey, can you please lotion my feet for me? They are really dry. I'm drying up (because of dehydration) like a weed. Michael: No, Shelley. Not like a weed. Like a raisin! Because raisins are still good when they are dry.
Hahahaha! I had to share that.
Nobody likes being sick, but especially on your birthday. I turned 25 on Saturday! It was kind of a bummer that I didn't get to go out for my birthday or eat any yummy food but my friend Brittany came over with her kids and kept me company while our husbands went to see Batman. She also bought me a cupcake, a birthday balloon, gatorade, magazines, play jewelry, and a bunch of other random things!! I took a picture with some of it as proof.
I tried not to feel too bad for myself because I do feel extremely grateful for so many things. After something like the shooting in Colorado happens, it humbles me just a bit. It's a birthday. Everyone has them and they come every year. I can always celebrate another day!
I am so glad that I felt well enough to go to church yesterday and teach my class. I needed that! It was an answer to my prayers because as I was getting ready that morning, I had to keep sitting/laying down from weakness. But I got myself there and as soon as I stepped into the building I felt relief and I have felt better all day since then. Counting my blessings! :)
My Sunday got better and better. First church was great and then my sister and Britt came over to watch the Bachelorette finale. So fun!! No spoilers here, I just have to say I am happy with the ending!
I HAVE to blog about my day yesterday! It was such an up and down emotional roller coaster!
First, I slept in (which is always a perfect way to start any day, am I right?) and while Michael was away working a little overtime, I watched The Bachelorette. I don't think I have ever mentioned on here that I watch that show. I didn't used to...until about a year ago. I just get sucked into the drama of it all! So anyway, Bentley is one of the guys Ashley is choosing from and he is so clearly an outright JERK. He's not even trying to hide the fact that he is there for the wrong reasons. Everything he says to the cameras behind her back makes me so angry. For example, he said he would rather swim in a pool of pee than plan a wedding with Ashley because she isn't his type. That's just ONE example. Ugh. Luckily he will be leaving the show after next week.
I could go on and on about that show but I'll just leave it at that!
When Michael got home, we finally got motivated to go to the gym but when we got there I couldn't believe how completely and utterly incapable I was to even get a work out in. After just a half mile WALKING on the treadmill I was sore and had to go to the bathroom. I was walking at a 20 minute mile pace, people. With that in mind, and also seeing all these tiny, fit ladies running around, I just lost it. By the time we were driving away I was sobbing. Michael was really nice and comforting. I explained that yes, I know I am pregnant, but it is still SO hard to not be able to do things I used to. I'm the weakest I've ever been and I miss being in shape. I had a bit of a pity party for myself.
What did Michael do to cheer me up? We turned on some happy music and he drove straight to The Coffee Bean without even me asking him to. He knows me so well!! I love that man. We went in and after sitting and talking while sipping my Pure Chocolate I was already feeling so much better. There was still a hint of sunshine hitting my back and he helped me realize that I really am living a great life. I have my own challenges just like everyone does, but I am so lucky to have a husband who loves me and a healthy baby on the way.
Then, this is where my day got even better! He mentioned that Monday he had a moment when he thought of a name for the baby. He said it was a pretty strong impression and he just forgot until then to tell me. I couldn't believe it because I had just been thinking about that same name Monday night when I was in bed falling asleep!! We had both, separately, thought of the same name and discovered it the next day! It came as such a surprise because we had already pretty much had a different name picked out for a while and now all the sudden we both felt that this new name was a better fit for this particular baby. I still love our old name but for some reason this new name is feeling right for both of us! How cool is that?! It was such an amazing experience! We both felt that it was inspiration.
Anyway, I had to write that down! I'm 24 weeks now. The baby weighs about 1 1/4 lbs. and is about as big as an ear of corn! She looks pretty cramped in there!
