Easter Weekend: The Host, Family Time, and a Massage

I know I am a day late in posting about our weekend. My excuse? I was too tired to upload pics and type it up on Sunday night! Plus I needed my mom to send me the pictures she took!

We had a great Easter weekend! Michaels "vacation" is coming to an end so we soaked up all the time we've able to spend together. We spent a lot of time around the house, at the gym, going out to eat, etc.

Emily loves having both of us around!

On Saturday night I went with some girlfriends to Panera for dinner (omg, so yummy) and to see the highly anticipated (for me, at least) movie The Host. I read the books years and years ago (like 2008) and they had been talking about making it a movie for a long time. So, finally they made the movie and I got to go see it the night after it opened! My thoughts on it? I think they did a pretty good job. Of course it was not as good at the book (are they ever?) but it was still good. I didn't walk away thinking that it was amazing but it was still worth watching!

Onto the next morning- Easter! I woke up and attempted to make Easter bunny pancakes. This is the first one I tried...and it went downhill from here :). At least they tasted good!

When we were on our way our the door to go to church we saw our neighbors and I took that opportunity to ask them if they could take our picture. Family pictures of us aren't very common so it was nice of her to do this for us!

I wanted to get a comparison picture in the same spot and pose as least year with Emily. Here is last years Easter picture...

And this years Easter picture! Wow, that's crazy. Also note the difference in the house color!

Church was nice! It was Emily's first official week in nursery (18 month-3 years) and she did pretty well most of the time. I had been taking her in there for a little bit at a time that last few weeks to prepare her. We have to kind of get her distracted and then sneak out. When she notices we left she cries and wants to be held by someone and let out of the room but eventually she gets over it and plays.

After church my parents came over. I made a roast in the crockpot and a peach cobbler/dump cake. After dinner we played "peep wars"! You stick toothpicks in the peeps, microwave them, and they stab each other. Supposedly the winner is determined by whichever one pops the other, but we tried it a few times and there was no popping. Just a big blown up peep that melts down like the wicked witch of the west once it cools off. We decided to determine the winner by if one of them even poked the other.

We played games and played with Emily with the plastic Easter eggs some more. She likes going around and finding them and putting them in her Easter basket. Anyway, it was nice to spend some time with family! I hope you had a great Easter too!

**Last night I finally used my Massage Envy gift card that was Michaels anniversary gift to me. From December. Ahhh I love massages! Although, I do wish I hadn't eaten Mexican food right before!**

Happies and Crappies

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

I'm linking up for the first time today to do Happies and Crappies with my new blog friends Sarah and Stephanie! What is "Happies and Crappies"? Basically a list of all the good and bad that occurred during the week! Fun, right?! Go link up!

Happies:

 - We got to spend time with family and friends on Monday. We had a game night for the second time this month! (By the way, my friend Wendy and I are setting up her brother with one of my best friends. All of which are pictured below!)

-Michael is on vacation so we've been able to spend so much more time together! We've gone out to eat a couple of times. One of which was yesterday. We went to BJ's for their two for $20 special. Yum!

-We had our church's Easter Egg Hunt this week! We had practiced with Emily around the house earlier in the day so that by the time it came down to business, she would be awesome at it. She didn't disappoint! She knows the word "egg" now. She also knows "I dunno" and "I got it!". Haha!

- I got compliments on my necklace at the Easter Egg hunt! :)

- I've still been able to keep up with going to the gym! I kind of love it, actually. I want to go every day now! And with Michael being on vacation, I can! I love feeling myself get stronger with each workout I do. I weighed myself the other day and I actually weigh more but it must be from fat turning to muscle because I'm not getting any bigger but I am getting more toned!

- My sister is officially serving as a missionary in Berlin, Germany! Which brings me to my next "happy"...I've been reading my scriptures every night for the past two months and I'm so glad I got back into the habit. I feel like I'm getting my life in all sorts of order lately! Spiritually, physically, and mentally.

Crappies:

- Our water heater broke so we had to take cold showers on Wednesday. I'm pretty sure our neighbors were probably wondering what all the screaming was about. COLD WATER! On Thursday I just took a shower at the gym after my workout. Much better! We've bathed Emily in the sink with water we pour in after heating it on the stove. Ghetto!! Hoping to get it fixed in the next day or so!

- Talked to a personal trainer briefly (of course he tried to get me to sign up to do once a week sessions with him for $140 a month- who's got that extra money laying around?) about how my toes on my right foot go numb when I do cardio exercise. It's been like that for years but it's getting a little more annoying lately. He thinks I need to see a doctor for an MRI (scary word) to see if it's something like a messed up disc in my back or a nerve or something. He said if I don't get it "taken care of", the numbness might spread up my leg to my hip eventually. Umm...I guess I need to see a doctor. I always thought it was my shoes that were the problem.

-One of my best friends since like 5th grade called to let me know her mom has breast cancer. She is going in for surgery early next month so please keep her in your prayers! Hoping they get it all and that she will be okay. I love that family!

Our Easter Weekend

This weekend we hung out with our friends and their two little boys on Saturday night.

On Easter morning, we got Emily all dressed for church in the Easter dress her Nana bought her...

...she was briefly okay with taking pictures and then this happened...

...but she is still a cutie pie, haha. Anyway, we gave up on getting pictures because we were late leaving for church where we taught our class and handed out candy if they remembered their notes from General Conference or at least told us what they learned from one of the talks.

After church we tried again with taking a picture and this time we went outside. I think it turned out okay!

After Emily got a nap, we drove to my parents house to spend Easter with some family...I got a couple pictures with my phone on the way there.

It's tradition in my family to have Easter lunch/dinner together. We always have crouissant sandwiches. This year there was my dad, mom, brother Steven, myself, Michael and Emily, and my cousins Jacob and Daniel.

Thanks for having us over, Mom and Dad! We love you!

Happy (belated) Easter!!

Whats new? Oh, you know...just feeling our baby kick!!

First of all: Happy Birthday to my brother Steven!!

A lot has been going on lately with us and I haven't been the best at blogging about it. Let's see...we are getting ready for my brother in laws wedding on Friday! I went to Sarahs bachelorette party over the weekend which was a lot of fun.

We spent Easter with family. My sister is home from college for the rest of summer and she brought her three roommates to spend Easter with us. After Easter lunch at my parents house, we went to Easter dinner at my in-laws. Since our families live so close to each other it makes splitting holidays a whole lot easier!

I'm officially 19 weeks and the baby is about 6 inches long. Guess what!! Last night after we had a late dinner at Chili's (I was craving their salmon), drove home with a flat tire, and sat on the couch to watch some TV, I thought I was feeling the baby move. It was sporadic and then I definitely could tell that it was, indeed, the baby! Michael and I were both able to feel it moving from the outside! He didn't believe me that it was the baby at first until he did some research online and saw that it was very possible. It was in my uterus, after all! Not like where my intestines were or anything. I got to feel lots of movements! It was an awesome feeling. 19 weeks old and the baby is already making itself quite present!

Next week will be the halfway mark of my pregnancy already...I can't believe it! Not only will I be halfway done, but we will have another ultrasound where they will be looking to determine what the gender is!! Crazy!! I want to put a poll up for you to guess what you think it is but I'm not sure where to find one of those. Does anyone know?

Well, that's all for now! Peace.

Happy Easter!!

Traditionally, my mom does this at her house...

There's an assortment of meats, cheese, and everything else you would want for a yummy deli lunch. This was last sunday because they were going out of town for this week. Michael and my sister waiting for the rest of us at the dinner table.

We had some fun with the dog, Tyler. Here are some tricks for you!

I made these Easter baskets for Michael and myself...

Yesterday Michael got the suit he was trying on last weekend. Doesn't he look amaaaazing?!

And my neice, Mikayla was wearing a shirt a bought her for fun. She's so adorable!

And my neice Aubrey is always putting on shows like this. I love the bow she does.

Tyler loves to jump all over Michael.

And since Tyler woke him up from his nap...I wanted to take a quick picture....

This was our Easter! I hope you guys had a great one too!
Did you guys feel the earthquake too? It lasted a while...
Only in California would we get an earthquake on Easter. Of course!
