Our Valentine's Day Date With Emily

Since Michael works nights, our dates are usually lunches...with Emily. But yesterday that didn't bother us because she is our little Valentine and stole both of our hearts. It seemed appropriate that she celebrate the day of love with the two people who love her the most in the world. This little family of ours is filled with so much love that it's hard to imagine even being capable of expanding it and spreading it out over more kids someday. Someday. Don't get too excited, we aren't ready for another baby quite yet. :)

Although, it's kind of crazy to think that Emily isn't even really a baby anymore! I was holding her, asleep in my arms last night, and thinking about how big she has gotten. Where has the time gone? She is growing into such a fun, loving, independent little girl!

Sigh.

Back to our date yesterday!

After Emily and I let Michael sleep for a while, we woke him up and we got ready and went to lunch at TGIFriday's. It was great! Emily loved sitting between us on the booth for most our time there. Our waitress loved Emily and kept trying to get her to smile for her but Emily can be really wary of strangers so she just stared at her until she walked away and then would continue being silly and happy. Poor waitress :).

That was pretty much our Valentine's Day!

A Whirlwind Romance

Michael and I had our first Valentine's Day together after we had already been married for a couple of months!

Let me explain...

Michael and I started dating in June of 2007, fell in love and were engaged by October, and we got married about six weeks later on December 7th, 2007. I was 20 and Michael was 22. When you know, you know. Once we knew what we wanted, we didn't want to wait to start our life together!

We've been married for over five years now and I wouldn't change a thing about our whirlwind romance!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Date and We Are Private!

We are now a private blog! Woot!

Hopefully you guys make it here...it's such a pain, I know, to have to click on the link to my blog to see it but maybe if you add it to your favorites you will be more likely to remember? Whatever works for you! I was having second thoughts about going private because it is such a hassle for you guys but as I was entering each of your email addresses, I felt reassured that I was making the right decision. I feel like a load is off of my shoulders now!

So now, my first private post!

Happy Valentine's Day!! We actually celebrated yesterday. I got to have a massage, come home to my baby NOT crying, just chillin in the front pack as my awesome hubby carried her around while he cleaned the floors. AWESOME, right?! Then, I got to shower in peace and get ready for our date!

We drove out to Michaels parents house, I fed Emily, and we left to go to dinner at Claim Jumper. It was deeelicious! I got rib eye, a baked sweet potato, veggies, and their cheesy garlic bread. Not too healthy but oooh my gosh it was so yummy! Michael and I both love our food. Sometimes we hardly talk during dinner except to make sounds like "mmmm" or "oh my gosh...so goooood" hahaha.

After dinner we drove across the street to the mall and had fun walking around and looking in shops. I was kind of looking for skirts that I could wear but I didn't find ANY that weren't mini skirts or super tight. Well, I found one that I liked, but Michael said it was too "wanna smoke some weed?"-ish. Like..Bob Marley colors or something? I dunno. Ha. I guess I will have to keep looking.

We had a cone at Dairy Queen at the mall, went back to get Emily, came home and watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother (we are watching them all together), and went to bed.

Valentines Day, 2012? Success.

Valentine's Day Swap: We were spoiled!

I was so thrilled to participate in this Valentine's Day swap! I got to be partnered up with Meg O. from O. is Me (who, by the way, is awesome)!
Neither of us followed the $10.00 rule. I had so much fun spoiling her and her baby girl! It was really hard not to send them everything I saw. I loved picking out gifts!
I was so excited to get my package from her in the mail! She has girly handwriting (no surprise there ;) and then inside were tons of goodies and a card she wrote me to tell me what everything was, whether it was for me, Emily, or Jexi (how sweet she thought of my two girls!) and why she picked what she did. I love that!
This is what I got from her:
A really cute new headband...
Socks for Emily!

A teddy bear for Emily...don't worry there is another ear :)...

Sweethearts, a doggy bone for Jexibelle, a Luna bar (which happened to be in my fave flavor, too!), Maybelline dark circle eraser (I had never used it before and I love it now), NYC lipgloss (sooo pretty!), and Sally Hansen nail polish!

I ate that Luna bar right up and then Emily enjoyed the wrapper!

It's hard to tell in pictures what the lipgloss looks like in pictures but it's my new favorite gloss!

Pretty pink nails for Valentine's Day!

I love all of the things I got from Meg! Thank you so much!

V-Day Pictures and TV

Our Valentines Day dinner turned out to be delicious! Here's a picture of our cute dishes with the food.

We also have some V-Day placemats but when I took them out to be used I saw they were stained. I attempted to wash them but no such luck at getting them presentable.

My Valentine :-).

We also found a heart shaped cookie cutter so we ran to the store to get cookie mix. Turns out that you can't really shape chocolate chip cookies....so we gave up on heart shaped cookies and just made them like normal. Warm chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk. Mmmhmm!

Have any of you guys ever watched The Secret Life of the American Teenager? I never watched it until I got really bored one night and saw that all the seasons were on Netflix with the instant streaming. So I have been watching it like mad. We have a love/hate relationship, that show and me. It's juvenile and the characters take themselves way too seriously for just being 15 or 16 years old. I don't know anyone who was like them in high school. But...it's also addictive and entertaining. Plus, it had Molly Ringwald and who doesn't love her?

Valentine's Day and an Engagement to Celebrate!

Happy Valentine's Day!! It's been a good day for us so far! We slept in, I caught up on the phone with an old friend who is 9 weeks away from having her first baby (yay!), then I went to get a pedicure. It's my gift. I picked it out. Haha! So now I have pretty pink sparkly toes! I got kind of ripped off as far as the massage part goes, but I was trying out a new place so that happens. But still, $16.00 aint bad. It's nice to get pampered sometimes! Tonight we are going to have some carne asada, mashed potatoes, and veggies for dinner with our pretty Valentine's Day plates and stuff that were given to us as a wedding gift. It's a sweet little tradition every year to use them. I'll try to remember to take some pictures and post them on here sometime.

I'm late in blogging about this, but CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah and Tyler (Michaels brother) on their engagement!! We are so excited for them. They have been together since high school and we all consider her a part of our family already. Here's how he proposed: He took her to get Chili's takeout (something they did on their first date), took it to a park to eat, brought his guitar and sang her this awesome song that he wrote for her a while ago, and then popped the question! They will be getting married in April or May of this year! Congrats again! We love you both!

Friday Night Valentines

First off, I wanted to let you know I finally updated my Medieval Times post with the pictures!

Last night I went straight from the train station coming home from work to dinner with Michael. Hibachi Steakhouse is usually always full and has a long wait but he got there a half hour early to put our name in for us.
This is our chef, Ruben cooking up our fried rice. Right in front of us!
This is the weird soup and the yummy rice he made...
Michaels shirt is blindingly white in this picture...
Cooking up some more things like veggies...
Michaels favorite part...the MEAT! Haha.
It was so delicious! And there was also a salad...so by the time we got our main dish we are already pretty full. But we took the rest home for later. It was kind of pricey but worth it for the experience. Plus, Valentines Day! After dinner we went to see the movie "Valentines Day" (original I know). The reviews weren't great but we still liked it.  Happy early Valentine's Day everyone!

A Poem For My Valentine

My Valentine,
Because I am a blogger and I love to write
I'd like to make a poem for you...and I was assigned.
For this Valentine's Day, I would like you to know
That two years of marriage is really starting to show.
No, you have not gotten ugly, in fact it's the opposite.
Over these two years, your muscles grew quite a bit!
After two years of marriage, I love you even more.
I never thought that was possible before.
Even though we have had hard times,
And I'm sure there are more to come...
I know that with each other,
We can continue to grow in love.
These two years have been quite a journey.
They've been full of hopes and dreams.
I even managed to get you into some nice Gap jeans!
There have been new jobs and new locations,
New goals and some vacations.
We have become an aunt and uncle,
First with Aubrey, and then Mikayla.
You have gotten great at making steak-
With lots of flava'!
Tyler went on a mission last December,
And in April Jocelyn will be our new family member!
We have searched and searched for a home,
We are already prequalified for a loan.
While we are waiting for our dreams to come true,
These past two years have been the best because of you.

Okay, so I am obviously not a poet. But it was fun to try! (What the heck rhymes with Mikayla anyway??) Michael, I love you!!
