Oh, How Pinteresting: My Style

As I mentioned last week, I wish I had the clothes in my board on Pinterest.
Like...seriously? How do I have so many clothes and yet still feel like I don't have anything to wear sometimes?!
If I could afford it, I would totally have a closet full of clothes that I would be excited to wear.
Anyway, these are some of my favorite outfits I've pinned!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

I've been having so much fun on Pinterest lately so I thought it would be fun to participate in this linkup for my first time with Michelle from The Vintage Apple.

These are just a few from my "Random" board.
Next week I will need to share some really cute outfits that I love!
I swear, if I could download my Pinterest "closet" to my real closet and my Pinterest house decorating ideas to my home, it would be AMAZING! Ha!

{Planning} Emily's 1st Birthday Party

Emily is going to be ONE YEAR OLD next month! I still can't believe it. But, slowly, while I am thinking about her birthday party details, it is sinking in that my baby girl is not *really* a *baby* for much longer.

(She is also getting two more teeth on the top now which is making it that much more obvious.)

As I have been planning things for Emily's birthday party next month, Pinterest has been an amazing help in giving me ideas for things I want to do and how to do them.

I will incorporate some polka dots but the main idea is lavender, yellow, and pink in pastels. I want it to be girly, light, and airy- does that make sense?

This picture with the setup of the table is always in my mind.
I bought a light yellow table clothe but I want to somehow make levels like this.
I will also have vases of flowers from my mom and her garden.

I will just let the pictures speak for themselves!

Let me know if you have any ideas :)

Jewelry Display

How do you display and store your jewelry?

I've always just used two things: My jewelry box and a random bag that I keep in my closet.

While it works for storing my jewelry, I always end up forgetting about long lost items and then never wear them. They also get tangled and then if I do go through it and want something, I have to untangle it and I usually end up throwing it back in saying, "forget it!" and picking an untangled item that I always wear because it's easier.

BUT. Since I have been trying to branch out and wear more jewelry like this new statement necklace I bought...

..and this more simple but pretty necklace.

I really want to organize what I have in a way that it doesn't get tangled and I can easily see all of my options!

I came across this idea on Pinterest...

What do you think?

It's silverware compartments spray painted then tailed onto a wall. I love it! I just need to convince Michael to let me do this.

Take A Lookin' At My Cookin' #9- Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps

Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps
I originally found this recipe on Pinterest.

*Makes 6 wraps*
(I added more chicken and stuff so it ended up making almost twice as many wraps.)

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup cooked rice, warm or at room temperature
1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 green onion, finely sliced (white and green parts)
1/2 red or green pepper, diced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
juice of 1 lime
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2 cups shredded cheese (I used cheddar and Michael liked adding mozzarella too)
Sour cream (optional)
6 burrito-sized flour tortillas

DIRECTIONS:

Mix rice together with chili powder, cumin and garlic salt. Add remaining ingredients except for cheese and sour cream. Sprinkle cheese over tortillas, leaving 1/2-inch border around edges, then arrange chicken and rice mixture down the center of each tortilla. (Optional: on some of the wraps, I dotted the cheese with about 1-2 tablespoons of reduced fat sour cream before arranging chicken and rice mixture down the center – it made the wraps delightfully creamy.) Roll stuffed tortillas, leaving edges open. Spray the tortillas all over with cooking spray.

Heat a large non-stick skillet (or griddle) over medium heat for 1 minute. Arrange 2 wraps, seam-side down, in pan and cook until golden brown and crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining wraps. Serve.

Friday Ramblings!

Do you ever have those days where you just feel like blogging but you don't have anything in particular you want to write about?? I'm having that kind of day. Emily is taking a nap, Michael is outside painting the house (yay!!) and Jexi and I are cuddled on the couch in the AC.

Last night I tried a new recipe I found on Pinterest and I can't wait to share that in one of my Take A Lookin At My Cookin' posts! It was sooo yummy!! My brother (who was here for the night) and Michael loved it too.

Emily has been LOVING her little jumperoo thing. I have a ton of cute pictures and video I will be posting of that.

Did I mention Michael is painting our house?! I am so excited about that! We moved here almost two years ago and our house has been a complete eye-sore with blue marks (no idea what it was) and splotches of spackle that Michael patched holes with when we moved here. It was just sitting like that, looking ghetto, forever! So, we are finally getting that done and doing it all on our own! Yesterday was the prep work and that took all day pretty much. We rented a spray thing and it seems to be going well. I go outside and check on him every once in a while but he sends me back inside because I point out spots he missed, lol!

Today (when Emily is done napping) I am heading out to OC to meet up with my friend Kristen and her son, Sammy! They used to live close to us when we all lived in Orange County but we moved one direction and they moved another and now we hardly get to see each other. She came over right after we had Emily but that means it's been probably about six months!

ANYWAY! I guess I just felt like rambling. Oh, and also? I've been on Pinterest a lot lately. It makes me want to so some serious crafting, shopping, and cooking!!

I am so so so excited that Meg is making me a new blog design! It has been such a fun process. She has been so patient with me. I am so indecisive! I recommend you work with her if you want a new design. She's great!

One more thing. I am linking up with Neely and Ashley this Sunday for Sunday Social so be sure to check that out and link up too!

DIY: Valentine's Wreath

I know it's shocking, right?! I hardly ever do crafts. But my friend Rachel invited me over to make this wreath and I really do like to do this stuff, I just lack the motivation to get materials and actually do it most of the time. I accepted her invitation and even went to buy my first glue gun...ever. Is that ridiculous?!

And now...I love making wreaths!

I made one for my mom first and then made one for my own door.

It's so easy. You buy the wreath, tons of candy hearts and glue, and about two rolls of ribbon...

Wrap the ribbon all around the wreath and then glue the last end piece down...

Glue the hearts all over, facing in different directions. You could do it with the 'conversation' part facing up but I liked mine facing down so I could just use it for spring too if I want. Plus some of the words were blurry, yada yada.

Then let it all settled for a bit, peel off the strings of glue that get everywhere, tie a pice of ribbon around it to hang and then another piece make into a big bow around the first piece and....

This is what you get!

Cute, right?! I love it.
Some of the hearts have fallen off here and there but it takes no time at all to glue them back on and stick it back up on the door.

I'm already thinking of other wreaths I can make.

P.S- I know she has nothing to do with my wreath, but she is pretty dang cute so I can't help but post a couple pictures of my little darlin'!
