Fun Times With Family & Friends

This is the first time I've had time to blog or even get on my laptop since Wednesday! I was out of town spending every moment with family and friends! Since there was SO much happening this week, here's a bullet point list of what I was up to...

Wednesday

• Drove out to Orange County for the week because Michael's sisters family was visiting from Texas and I had friends here for their baby showers.
• Girls night with Michaels mom, his sister, and my two SIL's (who are both pregnant!)
• We went to The Melting Pot (which was delicious and I've wanted to go for so long)!
• Then we went to get massages!

Thursday

• Beach day

• Scentsy party

Friday

• Train ride/Park/Zoo day

Saturday

• Breakfast with friends (Alyse, Candace, Sheri, me, Kelli- Alyse and Sheri are pregnant)- I hung out with lots of preggo ladies this weekend!

I totally burned out after this and didn't take pictures the rest of the weekend. Need to update later with more!

• Nieces birthday party
• Double baby shower (Alyse and Sheri's)
• Makeshift family photos
• Watched The Lucky One with my parents

Sunday

• Drove home in the morning and then went to church
• Playing catch up with emails, blogging, laundry, cleaning!

And can I just say how grateful I am to be blessed with so many awesome people in my life?! I am also feeling so glad that I live in such a beautiful area that makes it easy to have fun in this sunny weather! I love Southern California. Speaking of Southern California...have you checked out the new blog?!

Our Baby Shower

This past Saturday was our baby shower!! My sister pretty much rocks. She put it together for us and it was perfect! Things I requested: Co-ed, casual, outside, and no games. I'm not a huge fan of the typical shower. I really wanted our shower to be more of a get together with friends and family to celebrate. My sister respected my wishes and did a great job!! It was at a beautiful park, in the shade with a breeze. There was a playground close to where we were so the kids could go play.

She made this cake and these cupcakes, herself! There were also sandwiches, salads, and fruit.

My mom wanted a picture of all the preggos that were there. Meagan (due in..November?), Rachel (due a few days before me), me, and Wendy (due about three weeks before me- she also is the talent behind Love Mae Photography).

Kristen and me! We finally got a picture together!! Whenever we see each other we forget to take one. Our babies will be just about exactly one year apart. She had her first, baby Sammy, last September.

There are a lot more pictures, but you get the idea! It was such a great shower!! I'm so grateful to my sister for working so hard to throw it for us and for those who came to support us! We got a lot of great gifts for Baby Girl and we can't wait to use them!

24 Weeks, Hormones, And Bloggy Friend Love

24 weeks...

 

This picture was taken with Michaels phone because for some reason our camera has decided to be a pain in the you-know-what the last few months. Whenever we turn it on it says the memory is full, even though it isn't. It takes turning it on and off several times and sometimes pulling the battery or memory card out and replacing it for it to work. I didn't feel like dealing with that, as my patience these days has been really limited. Therefore, here we have a bad quality picture, but a picture nonetheless!

Other than my ever-growing belly, not a whole lot has been going on. My sister and friend are planning me a baby shower, which I am thankful for! I really don't understand people who think that it's greedy to have a shower. Yes, we could buy everything ourselves. It's not about asking for gifts! It's about celebrating our baby with family and friends! In fact, I don't even make a big deal out of my own birthday because I feel awkward getting attention. This, on the other hand, is our first baby. I feel that it is worth celebrating! I need to learn not to be so sensitive but I also wish that people would stop being dumb-dumbs.

Sheesh. My hormones have been on overdrive this week. Please excuse me!

A couple days this week were in particular difficult, but one thing that helped cheer me up was having a Skype conversation with my bloggy friend, Neely! I felt like I already knew her from reading her blog so much. Thanks again, Neely!

There are so many of you guys that I would love to meet in person! It's amazing the friendships you can make through the internet!

Oh, and Tara over at Fabulous But Evil is having a really awesome giveaway!  I really want to win it so that after I get my maternity pictures done, I can take one of those pictures and turn it into a canvas print! I think that would look really good in the nursery!
