We are finally getting a house!
I've been waiting to announce it until I knew it was a done deal... but we are well on our way (apparently it takes about three business days to open Escrow) to officially being in Escrow! As soon as it opens, we need to really quickly get all of the house inspections done and hopefully nothing horrible turns up. Most of the things we already know about won't be too hard or expensive to fix.
The house is bank owned and they had already painted and put new appliances in, which is nice! You will notice in the video how we will have to do something about the dogs in the backyard behind our house...
We are really excited about finally getting a house! It's been such a long process for us. We started out about a year and a half ago looking at condos in Orange County. Then, we saw we could get a house for the same amount of money, but just a little further away in Corona. Then when we had absolutely no luck in that area, we looked at even cheaper places but even further away! But we finally got one!
(This gigantic tree is in the way in all our pictures of the house but you get the idea!)
Now I need to figure out how and when to tell my boss that I will no longer be able to work here...since it would take me at least a couple of hours to get to work! They know that I might be getting a house but they don't know where it is. I need to time it just right since I want to wait until after the inspections are completed and after my birthday lunch they are taking me to next week!
Speaking of my birthday, Michael surprised me by planning a small getaway tonight night! He said the three of us (Jexi makes 3!), will be going out of town and he isn't telling me where! He already said it's nothing huge like Vegas, but it will be fun! Yay! It's great timing, since we can celebrate two things at once! I'm so happy!
P.S- I strongly hinted Michael get me something for my birthday...

Man, house shopping in Orange County is a huge downer. We're going to have to wait quite a while, because we don't want to move further afield.
Congratulations!
Wait til you see the paperwork you have to sign. Ours was easily 200 pages. But so very worth it!!!

Homes in OC are expensive to own. Kev and I are thinking of renting a house in Fullerton which is the most inexpensive places in the OC but I know the house prices are still high. So you are moving to the IE
