A Mother's Day Weekend Getaway

I had the BEST Mother's Day weekend!!

I spent my first night away from Emily. As nervous as a I was, and as much as I missed her, I had A LOT of fun. My friends and I stayed at hotels in Newport Beach Friday night. We were there from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. This is what we were up to...

On the way to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, we stopped by Anthropologie and goofed off a bit.

I, of course, got the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad and a piece of cheesecake. Pretty sure they thought I was strange for taking a picture of my food. Silly blogger ;)

Meanwhile, every once in a while I checked in on Emily. She was doing GREAT with her Grandma and Grandpa! She actually ate food (rare these days) and went to bed easily! HUGE relief for me. I was then able to relax once I knew she was totally fine!

After dinner, we went back to our rooms and chatted it up! I usually go to bed at like 10:30 pm so imagine my surprise that I was wide awake and having a blast with my friends until 2:30 am! Whew! We just couldn't stop talking!

We woke up at like 8:30 am and went to the hotels gym. I was glad I got a workout in! Then we went to get ready for the day. My friend "teased" my hair. It was awesome.

We went to this spot that does paddle boarding and kayaking in the bay. I didn't want to risk falling into the freezing water so I avoided paddle boarding and stuck to kayaking. It was beautiful weather. Not too hot, definitely not cold, with a nice little breeze.

I went kayaking with Brittney.

Some of the ladies lounging on the beach!

Britt and Roxana paddle boarding.

After our time was up with the rentals, we went to lunch.

We went back to the hotel for a little bit and then I headed back to my in laws house (my parents had Emily Friday night and my in laws had Emily on Saturday). I missed Emily, wanted to see Michael before he left for work, and I was meeting some more friends there. They were coming over so we could say one last goodbye to our friend Kambree who is moving to Dubai! We will miss her so much!

Emily and I drove home around dinner time and after I got Emily in bed, I spent the rest of the evening catching up. You know it was a great weekend when you haven't checked social media/messages at all ;).

Mother's Day was great too! Michael gave me these beautiful flowers!
I am so blessed.

Our Mother's Day Weekend

We've been so busy lately, I've hardly been online at all the last few days! Aside from watching these two cuties all the time....

..we went to see my brother, two of my cousins, and some friends go skydiving on Saturday! It was a looong day but I'm glad we got to go!

Emily was pretty good for the most part. She loves watching people!

You can kind of see the skydiving in the center toward the top, between the trees...

I'm glad my parents could come to watch with Emily and me!

My cousin Daniel, brother Steven, and cousin Jacob...being silly before they jump. As if they weren't feeling scared ;).

The crazy jumpers!

On Saturday night and Sunday Emily and I both were hit pretty hard with colds and by Monday we felt well enough to have Michaels parents babysit for us so we could go see The Avengers. It was so awesome!! I'm really glad we got to go see it!!

My First Mother's Day As A Mommy

Last Mother's Day, I was about halfway through my pregnancy and excited that the next Mother's Day, I would have my baby in my arms.

I am a mother!! I can't think of a more challenging and yet rewarding job on Earth. I love my little girl so much! It also makes me appreciate my own mom in a way I had never before. You don't understand the love a mother has for their child until you have your own. It's amazing how much my heart has grown with love.

I once heard this quote, "Having children is like letting your heart walk around outside of your body." It's so true!!

I'm so blessed to have such amazing women in my life. My grandmothers, mom, and MIL are all so wonderful and I love them so much!! They are all special to me in their own ways. I'm so grateful that Emily has so much love surrounding her from everyone in the family. She truly is so loved and has so many awesome women around her!

I feel so priveliged that my Heavenly Father trusted me and loved me enough to allow me to have one of His precious daughters to raise and love as my own. I try my very best every single day to be the best Mommy I can be.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Mothers Day As A Mommy-To-Be

It's Mothers Day weekend and I couldn't be more excited that I can now celebrate the fact that I am a mommy-to-be! Last Mothers Day I wrote about how I have always loved taking care of children and that I wish I could have my own. This little girl is already so cherished.

Not only will I be celebrating being a mother, but it's also a special day to let our mothers and grandmothers know how much I love them. I have been extremely blessed to have such wonderful women in my life. I love you, Mom, Diana, Grandma T, and Grandma S!! Thank you for being such a blessing in my life. My daughter will be just as lucky to have you in her life and I know she will love you so much too!

Happy Mothers Day!! Xoxo!

A Mother's Day Post

I used to always be around children. I loved to teach them when I worked at two different private schools. One was Ivy Crest Montessori when I was 19 and the other was a Korean school located at their church. My brother had got me that job. I basically tutored them and taught them the alphabet or how to read. It was fun to play with them on their recesses and the best part was the bonds we formed by being together so much! It's sad that I probably spent more time with these children during than their own parents.

While I was dating Michael I quit the job to go back to school but I have gone back to visit them since then.

Then, after I married Michael, I became an aunt to my first neice, Aubrey. I love this little girl!

The day after we got home from our honeymoon.

Touching "Uncle Mikey's fuzzy head".

And then Mikayla came along as neice number two! I don't get to hold her as much though. She cries if she isn't in her mommy's arms! Or sometimes her dad or sister's arms.

Jarom, Tiffany, and Mikayla.

Aubrey and us at the wedding.

I love these two precious girls! But loving other people's children is definitely not enough to keep me content! Sometimes...I just can't wait to have my own.

Mother's Day is simply a reminder to me of something I don't have yet. Of course I believe it's a wonderful time to celebrate everything our mothers and grandmothers have done for us and what they stand for. I love to take a special day out of the year just for them.
But every year I think, "I'm not a mother. I thought I might be by now but I'm not. Maybe next year."

So...to you lucky mommies to be or already-mommies (or both!)...enjoy this special day on Sunday. Happy Mother's Day!
