Anticipating Fall, A Date, And RS

This weather is seriously taking my blogging motivation and squeezing the life out of it. It was just a couple of months ago that I was on a roll with ideas and a new design, I even started a new blog! But then BAM all the sudden it fizzled out and I can't seem to work up enough energy and I have writers block like crazy. Is anyone else feeling like that? I think this tends to happen to us bloggers. A lot of us don't blog as much in the summer and then fall comes around and we're refreshed and rearing to go.

Ahhh Fall. I can't wait. I love wearing jeans, sweaters, hats, boots, scarves...drinking warm drinks and listening to the rain. Warm, sunny days are more frequent than rainy days here in Southern California but I would take a crisp Fall day over a hot summer day any time. I'll be crossing my fingers for more energy and blog inspiration!

Sidenote: On Monday Michael and I finally went on a date. Dinner AND a movie? Score! We went to Olive Garden and then went to see Pacific Rim. Delicious food, great company, and an entertaining movie is my kind of night. On Tuesday I had a church Relief Society (ladies) activity and I actually got to go since Michael wasn't working and could stay and watch Emily. Any time I actually do my hair and makeup pretty, I feel so much better. Michael took a picture to document it :). Plus it was really fun to get out and socialize.

A Lunch and Pumpkin Patch Date

The other day, after we were on the mend from being sick (Michael and Emily were worse off than me), we went out for a little lunch date together. It had been a while so I went a little camera crazy ;).

Emily enjoyed herself too!

"I know what you two are doing. I will not look at that camera!"

"Okay, fine..."

Ahh... I used to be obsessed with Diet Coke but now Root Beer hits the spot for me!

I love when it comes in a bottle.

"Uh...Mommy?"

They brought me a frozen glass to pour it in. Never tried that before but it was fun!

"The nice lady brought me a lot of crackers. I like her!"

"Hey, lady! I'm eating the crackers! See? My mouth is full! I'm going to keep staring at you until you come over and comment on how cute I am."

After lunch, we went straight to the pumpkin patch. I had been wanting to take Emily as a family for like a month now. Better late than never!

It was really hot outside so we weren't there long. Just long enough to get some fun pictures and pick out a few pumpkins.

"What are we sitting on, Mommy?"

"I don't know about this thing..."

"Ohhh...what's that, Daddy?!"

"Hehe, this is silly! Big orange balls in here with me!"

"Okay, times up. I'm tired and hot. But I like the pumpkins and wagon!"

Catching Up On Blogging!

Wow, I am SO behind in blogging about what has been going on! It's time for a major update!

***

In the spirit of fall, I made a wreath....

I got the straw wreath and leaves from Michaels (the store) and hot glue gunned it. Tied a loop at the top with an orange ribbon that matched and voila!

I also had a Twitter friend (@slumie) make this cute little "T" for me in Halloween colors!

She made me one in green and red for Christmas too.

I mentioned before how we got tickets from my blog friend, Lin, to go to a food truck festival. I had never been to one before but we desperately needed a change of pace and we love food!

We invited my BIL, Jason, his wife Jocelyn, and their daughter Ellie to come with us. It was so much fun! Ellie and Emily are just about three months apart so it's fun to get the girls together. Cousins! Anyway, here are some pictures from that little outing!

Okay, more updates to come tomorrow. I hope you had a great Halloween!

Things Are Looking Up!

I just had to write a quick thank you to those of you who have called, text, emailed, commented, tweeted, messaged, etc. I can't believe how blessed I am to have such great friends and family around who lift me up and support me when I am down. It was so nice to hear that I am definitely not alone in feeling like this sometimes. We all struggle from time to time and we need to continue to be there for each other when things get tough! So, thank you for that!!

I'm trying my best to climb out of this little hole I'm in. I've been a little bit better at cleaning the last few days and I've even cooked dinner a couple times, which I am sure my husband appreciates. It's been hard for me to feel motivated but I'm trying!

A few things have happened that have cheered me up (besides you guys of course)! I FINALLY bought an entryway table! I used some of my very own Scentsy paycheck to purchase it, Michael put it together, and I decorated it! I am LOVING it!!

I'm also planning on getting out and having fun tomorrow at a food truck festival! I've never been to one but my bloggy friend, Lin from Linny's Vault, so kindly gave us four tickets! I'm sure it will be so good for us to get out and do something new and exciting. Plus, we love to eat! ;) Thank you so much, Lin!

Another thing I'm excited about- I won a giveaway! Becky at From Mrs. to Mama gave away $50.00 to A Cut Above and I won! I haven't been entering that many giveaways lately because (let's face it), a ton of people enter and your odds aren't great but I was lucky enough to actually win one! Sweet!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend. Most of you will be enjoying beautiful fall weather in your cute fall outfits. I, on the other hand, am in Southern California so we are still having temps around 80 degrees! Oh well, at least it's not in the hundreds anymore. We did have a couple days where we got to pretend it was cool enough for fall clothing.

Happy Friday!!

Happy October!!

Happy October!!

{Thank you for the adorable Halloween outfit, Grandma! We love you!}

It's hard to believe it's already October, especially since it's still above 90 degrees here. (Last night our AC and power turned off and it got up to 82 degrees in our house.)

I love October! It's time to bust out the fall/Halloween decorations! Who am I kidding? I already had my pumpkin warmer out!

On Saturday we had Emily's first birthday party. It was a great turnout! We had almost 30 people over. We enjoyed spending time together, celebrating our baby girl!

I had my SIL Jocelyn and my mom take some pictures and I've been editing them so I'm hoping to start posting those soon. There are some really great pictures!! Thank you, Mom and Jocelyn!!

Happy October, everyone!
