I couldn't pass up this weeks Sunday Social!

1. What was your first car?

My parents old 1998 Honda Accord. I still drive it! It's been a good car but I am looking forward to getting a newer, bigger car sometime (hopefully soon)!

2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher?

The first one that comes to mind is Mr. Stevens from my middle school. He was my math teacher, which is surprising because I always hated math. But his class was fun.  He was young and cool. He was obsessed with Michael Jordan shoes (he wore them every day), Fantastic Four (he circled every number four in the classroom and on our assignments), and we competed in little golf and basketball games to get prizes in his classroom. His class was one I looked forward to, which is good because normally I would hate math class!

3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can!

Yes! I did a lot of things. Piano lessons, ballet, tap, but the main one was soccer! Please excuse these old pictures of pictures!

4. What was your favorite birthday party?

Psh, we didn't really have many birthday parties. Christmas was where it was at!! If you can't tell, I am screaming from the excitement of my LiteBrite. :)

5. Who was your teen celebrity crush?

I didn't really crush on celebrities as a teen (I crushed on in person boys instead). But as a kid, I LOVED Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Like, kissed my Simba notebook type of love. One time at a sleepover, I serenaded my friends by singing a "song" about him (which was pretty much just repeating his name over and over)! To this day, they still make fun of me for that!! :)

6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?

We were never allowed to watch The Simpsons! My brothers always tried to sneak it on and sometimes my parents wouldn't notice for a few minutes. Lol.

I am blessed enough to not be able to just pick three. I have a great husband who is always there for me, wonderful family who would do anything for me, and some close friends who have shown they can be counted on!

Favorite TV show of the past...

I was obsessed with Full House as a kid. I wished I had big sisters like DJ and Stephanie and Michelle (the Olsens) were my age.

Favorite TV show as an adult is probably Friends! I own all the seasons and have watched the whole thing several times and never get sick of it.

Oh gosh that is a hard question. I love a bunch of shows. Greys Anatomy and The Vampire Diaries are probably my favorites right now.

Which Reality Show would you NEVER do?

There are a lot of them I would never do. Most of them are entertaining but are not something I would want to be a part of myself!

By the way, someone on Twitter said to me that if you watch reality tv you are probably an idiot. That really made me angry. It's called entertainment!


Which Reality Show would you LOVE to do?

If I was single? The Bachelorette! ;)

TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?

I've been watching a lot of Greys Anatomy reruns and I think I am a lot like Izzy. Michael says I am a combination of the girls of Friends.

TV character you'd want to date?

Avery from Greys Anatomy. Can you tell I have been watching it a lot? Or...Jim from The Office. Or Matt, Damon, or Stephen from Vampire Diaries. I dunno, there are a lot of good guy characters on TV!

I missed out on participating in Sunday Social last week so I had to be sure I did it this week!!

What is your favorite store to shop at?

I looove shopping at Target. I seriously can't help buying more than I went in for every time I go. It's afforadable and they have everything! I'm instilling this in Emily early on. ;)

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?

I admit that I am pretty clueless when it comes to brands and labels. I've been raised to have the mindset of getting more bang for your buck so that's why I love Target. I wouldn't know what to do if I had to buy from expensive designers! For example: The most expensive jeans I get are from The Gap. And we have a Gap Outlet here. :)

Must have closet staple?

Hm...jeans, skirts, and tshirts!

Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)

Converse!

Best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)

We live by an Outlet Mall so I find deals all the time. Joppa has some really cheap things. I bought a ton of tops there for like $3.50 each.

Style you'd love to try?

I've been afraid to try the skinny jeans look but I think they look cute tucked in boots with sweaters in the fall and with flats or heels too. I just hate wearing clothes that are too tight but if you have a brand you recommend I would be willing to try it!

I heard something the other day that was funny. "You shouldn't wear skinny jeans if you don't have skinny genes." Lol! I'm a nerd.

Sweet Home Alabama or Runaway Bride...it's hard to decide. I love so many!


Favorite movie quote?

I quote things from Zoolander a lot.
Things like, "I got the black lung, Pop. *cough cough*" and "It's IN the computer?!"
I used to watch that movie all the time with my friends.

Best movie to watch for a girls night in?

The Notebook, P.S I Love You...and other romance or romantic comedy movie.

Best breakup movie?

Hmm...Enough? I can't remember a good one for that!

Favorite celeb eye candy?

These days? Zac Efron!

Which movie stars closet would you want to raid?

Basically anyone who is casual but cute. Jennifer Aniston comes to mind first! I like it when celebrities can get away with wearing a good pair of jeans and a white tshirt.

I don't usually blog on the weekends and I haven't participated in many linkups lately so I thought I would try this new linkup hosted by Neely and Ashley!

(For some reason the spacing keeps showing up all out of wack. Sorry about that!)

How did you come up with your blog name?

The answer to that is on this page but basically holding hands is something my husband and I have always done without even thinking about it. I also find it kind of symbolic. We are always going to be there for each other to hold each others hand through the good and the bad.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I love that I can use blogging as a journal (I have been making books from my blog) but I also love to blog about random things like recipe's I've made , tv shows I watch, things I bought or want to buy, etc. I also love getting to know other bloggers. I have made so many friends from blogging and I wish I could hang out with them in person!
What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?

I'm going to have to go with Pinterest. It took me a while to get on the bandwagon because I didn't know why everyone was so obsessed with it but now I love to go on there and browse random recipes, photos, styles, etc.

Facebook or Twitter? and why?

I like both of them for different reasons. I like keeping up with people I know on facebook because you see pictures and not as many status updates. Twitter can be a little TMI sometimes but I like it because I feel more free to vent or say things I wouldn't say to people I know in person. Twitter conversations are fun and I would be emberassed to talk about some things (like the Bachelorette) on facebook. Then again some Twitter people spoil shows so I can't go on Twitter if I haven't seen an episode of something yet!
If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?

I've always loved Shania Twain, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, and Reese Witherspoon. However I can't imagine them even getting online, lol! So for the younger celebs... I really like Emma Stone! It would be cool if she read my blog. Or Taylor Swift. I can't pick just one!

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
I am an honest person and so whatever I write on my blog is just ME. I try and stay true to myself and so oftentimes I will just write about my daughter. She is, after all, my whole world!

Friday Ramblings!

Do you ever have those days where you just feel like blogging but you don't have anything in particular you want to write about?? I'm having that kind of day. Emily is taking a nap, Michael is outside painting the house (yay!!) and Jexi and I are cuddled on the couch in the AC.

Last night I tried a new recipe I found on Pinterest and I can't wait to share that in one of my Take A Lookin At My Cookin' posts! It was sooo yummy!! My brother (who was here for the night) and Michael loved it too.

Emily has been LOVING her little jumperoo thing. I have a ton of cute pictures and video I will be posting of that.

Did I mention Michael is painting our house?! I am so excited about that! We moved here almost two years ago and our house has been a complete eye-sore with blue marks (no idea what it was) and splotches of spackle that Michael patched holes with when we moved here. It was just sitting like that, looking ghetto, forever! So, we are finally getting that done and doing it all on our own! Yesterday was the prep work and that took all day pretty much. We rented a spray thing and it seems to be going well. I go outside and check on him every once in a while but he sends me back inside because I point out spots he missed, lol!

Today (when Emily is done napping) I am heading out to OC to meet up with my friend Kristen and her son, Sammy! They used to live close to us when we all lived in Orange County but we moved one direction and they moved another and now we hardly get to see each other. She came over right after we had Emily but that means it's been probably about six months!

ANYWAY! I guess I just felt like rambling. Oh, and also? I've been on Pinterest a lot lately. It makes me want to so some serious crafting, shopping, and cooking!!

I am so so so excited that Meg is making me a new blog design! It has been such a fun process. She has been so patient with me. I am so indecisive! I recommend you work with her if you want a new design. She's great!
