Fun Times With Family & Friends

This is the first time I've had time to blog or even get on my laptop since Wednesday! I was out of town spending every moment with family and friends! Since there was SO much happening this week, here's a bullet point list of what I was up to...

Wednesday
  • Drove out to Orange County for the week because Michael's sisters family was visiting from Texas and I had friends here for their baby showers.
  • Girls night with Michaels mom, his sister, and my two SIL's (who are both pregnant!)
  • We went to The Melting Pot (which was delicious and I've wanted to go for so long)!
  • Then we went to get massages!

Thursday
  • Beach day

  • Scentsy party
Friday
  • Train ride/Park/Zoo day

Saturday

  • Breakfast with friends (Alyse, Candace, Sheri, me, Kelli- Alyse and Sheri are pregnant)- I hung out with lots of preggo ladies this weekend!

I totally burned out after this and didn't take pictures the rest of the weekend. Need to update later with more!
  • Nieces birthday party
  • Double baby shower (Alyse and Sheri's)
  • Makeshift family photos
  • Watched The Lucky One with my parents
Sunday
  • Drove home in the morning and then went to church
  • Playing catch up with emails, blogging, laundry, cleaning!
And can I just say how grateful I am to be blessed with so many awesome people in my life?! I am also feeling so glad that I live in such a beautiful area that makes it easy to have fun in this sunny weather! I love Southern California. Speaking of Southern California...have you checked out the new blog?!

Another Beach Day!

I went to the beach two weekends in a row. Awesome! This time I got to go with Michael and his two brothers, their wives, my niece Ellie, MIL, and FIL. It was so much fun!!

This is a cute moment I caught on the drive to the beach.

Emily loves the water. At first she was hesitant about the waves (probably because we all kept screaming when it came higher than expected- ha!) but soon she was having a blast!

Emily and me...

 Such beautiful weather!

I title this one How Many People Does It Take To Build A Sand Castle?

Emily kept throwing the sand everywhere on herself. Sand shower!! It was everywhere. She even threw it on Ellie :).

She came, she saw, she conquered.

Just having fun!

Here's a video Michael took of Emily and me. I has just said I didn't want to play in the water since I wasn't wearing a suit and he said he just wanted a quick video. Then the water came.

After the beach we went to Cafe Rio. What a grreat day!!

A Mother's Day Weekend Getaway

I had the BEST Mother's Day weekend!!

I spent my first night away from Emily. As nervous as a I was, and as much as I missed her, I had A LOT of fun. My friends and I stayed at hotels in Newport Beach Friday night. We were there from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. This is what we were up to...

On the way to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, we stopped by Anthropologie and goofed off a bit.

I, of course, got the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad and a piece of cheesecake. Pretty sure they thought I was strange for taking a picture of my food. Silly blogger ;)

Meanwhile, every once in a while I checked in on Emily. She was doing GREAT with her Grandma and Grandpa! She actually ate food (rare these days) and went to bed easily! HUGE relief for me. I was then able to relax once I knew she was totally fine!

After dinner, we went back to our rooms and chatted it up! I usually go to bed at like 10:30 pm so imagine my surprise that I was wide awake and having a blast with my friends until 2:30 am! Whew! We just couldn't stop talking!

We woke up at like 8:30 am and went to the hotels gym. I was glad I got a workout in! Then we went to get ready for the day. My friend "teased" my hair. It was awesome.

We went to this spot that does paddle boarding and kayaking in the bay. I didn't want to risk falling into the freezing water so I avoided paddle boarding and stuck to kayaking. It was beautiful weather. Not too hot, definitely not cold, with a nice little breeze.

I went kayaking with Brittney.

Britt and Roxana paddle boarding.

After our time was up with the rentals, we went to lunch.

We went back to the hotel for a little bit and then I headed back to my in laws house (my parents had Emily Friday night and my in laws had Emily on Saturday). I missed Emily, wanted to see Michael before he left for work, and I was meeting some more friends there. They were coming over so we could say one last goodbye to our friend Kambree who is moving to Dubai! We will miss her so much!

Emily and I drove home around dinner time and after I got Emily in bed, I spent the rest of the evening catching up. You know it was a great weekend when you haven't checked social media/messages at all ;).

Mother's Day was great too! Michael gave me these beautiful flowers!
I am so blessed.

Emily's First Time at the Beach

She cried the whole way there...

Then she calmed down...

Enjoyed a little sunshine in mommy's arms...

Then fell asleep as we walked along the beach.

She was there with my parents, sister, and me!
P.S- Walking in the sand in shoes is hard. Walking in sand in shoes with a sleeping baby is a workout!!
