Doggy Adoption Update

I got this email this morning....

"Hi Shelley,
I spoke with Animal Services today and someone came forward to claim the dachshund. The chihuahua is still there; if she hasn't been claimed by tomorrow (Thursday) by 5, I'll be there to claim her Friday morning.
I'm perplexed by the fact that one was claimed but not the other when they appeared to be buddies, but I guess the important thing is that he has a home again.
I fully understand if you are no longer interested with just the one dog available, but if you are I'll be more than happy to meet Sunday assuming all goes as planned and I get the dog once she is fixed. If she's a fit with the family, great. If not, we'll know we tried at least!
Thanks again for looking to rescue a four-legged friend!
*****"

What the heck?! Someone actually claimed one and not the other?! How could they do that?? They were best buddies. My heart is aching for them. Their separation is so sad! I'm not sure what the next step for us is. Do we adopt the Chihuahua by herself and then if she is too lonely, try to adopt another friend for her?

*sigh*

I don't understand why someone would claim just one of them. I'm so upset about that! I mean, I guess it's good that at least one of them was taken home but we could have taken both of them and saved them from more sadness!

I want to take her home and love her!

oooo, YES do take her!!! she's so small and tiny, she needs someone to hug and kiss her, ESPECIALLY since someone just STOLE her friend from her! RUDE! hopefully they just became friends on the street, poor sweet baby all alone now, just grab another tiny friend up there for her to be besties with!!! good luck, keep us updated and GOOD FOR YOU for rescueing!!!

Awww...poor things. If you just want one dog, why pick one that has a best buddy? Poor pups.

that sux about separating the dogs. Some people just dont get it.

You should most definitely take the one dog and try to find a buddy for her later on. Dogs make buddies easily :) So cute...

some places wont let you do that if they know the pets are buds! at least you know that the one has a good family if you take it in :)

Aww, such precious pups! I say definitely take the other one. You can always give her a friend if she needs one later!
