It's been a long time since I've written an official "Everything Emily" post. I have, of course, written things about Emily but not one of these "all about her" posts. But she just turned 18 months on Monday and so I knew I needed to do one!
Size: Emily is pretty tall for her age but is thing. She weighs about 23 lbs and wears sizes 2T and 24 month clothing. She wears size 4 diapers.
Sleep: Emily has finally grown to be a pretty good sleeper most of the time. She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 at night and most of the time sleeps through the night now until around 6:30. Sometimes she will wake up and want a bottle or to be held for a few minutes but it's kind of rare now. She takes one nap a day but it's not really ever a set time...just whenever she gets tired enough to sleep. Usually before noon sometime.
Eating: Well, for someone who loved to eat so much as a baby, this girl really has turned into quite a picky eater! She would rather throw her food on the floor for Jexi to eat than actually eat it herself. But when she does eat, she usually likes fruit (or dried fruit strip things), yogurt, chicken, cheese, eggs, spaghetti (or just regular noodles), crackers, chips, pretzels...the more I go on the more it sounds like she does like a lot of foods. She just doesn't always choose to eat them! She still loves drinking bottles of milk. She can't handle whole milk so we give her lactose free whole milk, soy milk, or almond milk.
Playtime: Emily loves to be outside, running around, playing at the park, etc. She is quite a little daredevil and enjoys jumping off of things like chairs and couches. She knows how to climb up on her high chair now. She also thinks it's fun to climb in and out of the bathtub.
Emily likes playing with other kids and does well with them unless they are pushy or aren't very nice to her. Then she comes running to mommy and daddy! She likes certain TV shows (Barney, Yo Gabba Gabba, and The Fresh Beat Band are her current faves) and will whine if we put something on she doesn't want to watch.
Learning: This one is a constant change. She seems to learn things so much now it's hard to keep track of all the "firsts". She still doesn't say many words but she is starting to get better at it. Her favorites are "shoes", "baba", "dada", "mama", "uh oh", and "Jexi".
She understands what we say. We can ask her to go get something and she will do it. Or if we ask where something is she will put her hands up like "I dunno" and go look for it. She likes to copy things we do. She started walking in our shoes recently!
