A Sick, Sick, Weekend...Prayers, please!

Oh my goodness, our weekend was a nightmare! Let me start off by saying how over the last couple of months, my left hand ring finger around my nail has been having issues off and on.

It swells up and hurts, sometimes it is dry and bumpy, others it's just swollen and sore. I have had no idea why it has been doing it. I tried everything I could to make it go away but it always just went away on its own eventually. This time though, I figured it was time to see a doctor.

Michael wasn't home so I, for the first time ever, asked a friend of mine to watch Emily while I ran to the doctors office. I told her it would probably take an hour and a half or so...well, she ended up watching Emily over three hours. The doctor had prescribed a steroid cream and antibiotics but it took me about an hour and a half to get checked into the pharmacy, wait for my name, and then wait in line to get it. LONG lines. Anyway, I headed straight back to pick up Emily and by the time I got to her, Emily was beyond ready to go home. Crying and just pure exhausted, wanting me and a nap. I felt horrible for her and also for my friend!

She went right down for a nap and I took my antibiotic and had some lunch.

Fast forward a couple hours...I was repeatedly, violently, throwing up. I called a different friend, sobbing, and she came right over to help me with Emily for a few hours until Michael could get home. I feel SO blessed to have such good friends I can count on like that. Two friends in one day. Whew! Anyways, so we all figured I was sick from my antibiotic I took. Later that night I had a fever of 103 degrees. The next day I felt like I had just given birth. I was sore EVERYWHERE (well, except my lady parts- that part was different than birth!) and felt like I could barely move. I guess throwing up like that really does a number on your body!

Fast forward to Saturday night- I was feeling sore but better...EMILY STARTED THROWING UP. AH!!! She had never done that before. So, was it not my antibiotic that made me throw up then? Michael stayed home from work again to help us sickies.

She slept through the night Saturday and woke up Sunday seemingly fine. All of Sunday we were both on the mend. She went to bed early (we were both exhausted from being so sick) and then woke up at like 10:00 throwing up A LOT again! We were up with her for over an hour and a half changing her clothes, comforting her as much as we could when she threw up, barely holding tears back as we felt so helpless. She was so scared and sick and tired. Finally, she fell asleep and we put her down in a pack n play in our room for the night.

Now, I was only sick one night with a fever. She was sick two nights and didn't have a fever...two different things? Same thing but reactions were different? Who knows. All I know is, I hope that was the last of it. She has been okay today and we have tried to keep her hydrated. It's horrible to be sick but it's even worse to see your baby be so sick.

Please keep us in your prayers!

I'm so sorry love! That's horrible, I hope you all are better soon. Maybe Emily was stress sick - you were gone for awhile, she could tell you were sick, maybe she just got so stressed out it made her throw up? Either way, poor baby!
