A Fork In The Road

Thanks to everyone who emailed me or commented on my post about registering for my non-existent baby! Even though it was fun to write about it, I was a little nervous about the reactions I would get. So, thank you for not telling me I am a baby-crazed woman! I'm just planning ahead :-).

On that note, I have some exciting news! No... I'm NOT pregnant! lol! But...we might be getting a house! There's this one house that was not our favorite but it is still cute and we like it! It's a little smaller than I wanted but I don't care all that much.

Michael and I were surprised to hear back about some of the houses so quickly. We are a little stunned and feel like we are at a fork in the road. We could probably get this house and it would be a great starter home and we wouldn't be risking missing this opportunity, or we could wait for another one that we like even better but take the chance on not getting one for a while.

I feel like since this is the only house that we have gotten a good word back about that we can afford, we should move foward with it. The seller has a couple days to get back to us on it and if they sign the contract, we would go into Escrow by Monday!! And IF we go into escrow, we would have about 7 days to withdraw without penalty and do all the inspections and stuff. If everything happens the way it's supposed to and if we don't change our minds or they don't, then we would close at the end of August!!

This makes for a very hectic, exciting, and anxious weekend. I am still looking forward to it! Have a great weekend!

**Update**

We pulled out of this house! See how things change so quickly? Literally right after I posted this, I decided it would be a good idea to check out the schools stats in the area of this house and let's just say I was not at all excited after I saw what they were. We are going to keep looking. Now you get an idea of what we are going through! Haha.

I am glad you pulled out because I think that yes your first home isn't going to be perfect but if you don't at least love it and have even a doubt in your mind you shouldn't be spending all that money!

God gives you what you are supposed to have and what you need. I know I've said this before, but we almost bought a house that I was ify about and was WAAAAY smaller than our current house and it fell through. A year later we are in a house that I LOVE!

Good luck, I know it is stressful, but its good stress. This positive happy thoughts and you will be rewarded!

Totally random that I found your blog through Mama Kat's BlogFrog. Are you still in Orange County? We have a ton of blogger's here in Orange County...

searching for a house can be both exciting and nerve racking!! Since I was initially a home schooling mom the schools didn't matter to me and now my kids are in a public charter school (doesn't matter where I live)...just maybe something to consider!

Good luck with the house hunting. I will say from our first home buying experience that schools play a huge part in resale value. I'm sure you will find something else you love. Everything happens for a reason.
