Free for a Weekend!

Last weekend was the first weekend in a very long time that we had together to play. Usually he works all weekend and I work during the week so we NEVER get to spend a WHOLE day together!! So I decided we needed to make the most of it and go do something really fun! I don't know if any of you recall our attempt to go to Six Flags last time, but let's just say it was a complete and utter disappointment. We can look back at it now and laugh at what happened but we still wanted to go so I got Friday off of work so we could go. Let me back up a little first. Thursday night we kicked the weekend off with a movie (not a matinee- rare for us) called District 9. I almost walked out of it at one point. But I stuck it out and watched it for Michaels sake. I will not be watching that one again! Friday was a whole lot of fun! We were a little worried on the drive there that we would be disappointed yet again and not get to go into Six Flags because we saw this:That is one big puff of smoke in LA. However, when we got to Six Flags it was still open so we figured the fires would not be a threat :-) Traffic was not bad either!

One of the best parts of going out is that we are so excited to be doing something together that we feel like we ought to treat ourselves. At the movies we tend to get popcorn and at theme parks..we helped ourselves to several treats. Dippin dots and frozen lemonade. Twice. Each. Haha! It was hot!! It was at least 105 degrees.

It was really fun to go on the roller coasters. Although Michael and I both feel like we can't handle them as well as we used to. I get headaches when he head is banged around and then on the roller coaster I sometimes tend to black out. I shake it off and go on them anyway though because I love them!! The lines were not long at all on most rides so after about 5 hours, we were done.

Saturday we layed out together at the pool. Then we went to see Time Travelers Wife. I liked it but Michael hates movies like that. He does not mind chick flicks but he hates movies that (without giving anything away..) make him sad. After the movie we had his parents and Sarah (our brother Tylers gf- she is waiting for him while he is on his mission!) over for a BBQ. It was fun to have them over to chat and in our own place! I can't wait until we have a house! Then we will be able to have even more people over for BBQ's.

Sunday was the first time in MONTHS that we were able to go to all three hours of church together. It was soooo nice!! We went to my parents ward (5th ward) for my friend Lisa's farewell talk. She is leaving next week to serve a full time mission at Temple Square. I can't believe how much she has matured and grown as a person. She is so amazing! I hope I can visit her at least once while she is there :-)

Is anyone else having trouble uploading pictures and videos on here?
