The weekend of July 4th, 2008 Michael and I needed a break from his academy life and decided to go for the weekend to stay at his grandmas cabin in Lake Arrowhead. We were so excited to get away together because at that time we were living with his parents.
The cabin was dusty and cobwebby (yes, I made that word up) and there was a dead mouse in a bucket full of water outside. Oh yeah, and there were dead spiders in a trash can in the main bedroom. It was like a spider graveyard. If you know me, you know I am seriously a huge arachnaphobe. Well, we ended up sleeping on this couch here. It pulled out into a bed. It wasn't that bad!
Our favorite part of course was the food.
There were a bunch of cute shops there too. We loved it! Sorry for the poor quality pictures. Back then we only used disposable cameras. Ghetto, I know!
I wish this had turned out better. But we finally got someone to take a picture of us together at the lake.
On our drive home.
All in all, the trip was fun but if I could change anything it would be the rooming situation. We ended up leaving early because Michael was stressing about getting his reports done in time for Monday and I was sick of sleeping on a couch, worrying about spiders at night. We haven't gone back there yet, but maybe we will sometime. Thanks for reading about our trip!

How sweet are you guys! Great ghetto pics :-) And thanks for the visit.
Very cute! And those are some great pictures -- now I remember why we used to all love disposables.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! The HRC in LA isn't incredibly expensive. I mean, it's more expensive than fast food, but I don't think you'll be breaking the bank by going. A good burger is probably around $15, I want to say. It's more about the experience than anything though. It's definitely fun for a date night. :)
I think it's safe to say that my favorite part about any vacation is the food, too!
Looks like it was a great trip, minus the dead mouse and spiders. Eww! That would've been enough for me. to. get. the. heck. out. of. there. lol You and you husband make a beautiful couple.
Great post! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting on my Writer's Workshop post. Have a great day.
