A Poem For My Valentine

My Valentine,
Because I am a blogger and I love to write
I'd like to make a poem for you...and I was assigned.
For this Valentine's Day, I would like you to know
That two years of marriage is really starting to show.
No, you have not gotten ugly, in fact it's the opposite.
Over these two years, your muscles grew quite a bit!
After two years of marriage, I love you even more.
I never thought that was possible before.
Even though we have had hard times,
And I'm sure there are more to come...
I know that with each other,
We can continue to grow in love.
These two years have been quite a journey.
They've been full of hopes and dreams.
I even managed to get you into some nice Gap jeans!
There have been new jobs and new locations,
New goals and some vacations.
We have become an aunt and uncle,
First with Aubrey, and then Mikayla.
You have gotten great at making steak-
With lots of flava'!
Tyler went on a mission last December,
And in April Jocelyn will be our new family member!
We have searched and searched for a home,
We are already prequalified for a loan.
While we are waiting for our dreams to come true,
These past two years have been the best because of you.

Okay, so I am obviously not a poet. But it was fun to try! (What the heck rhymes with Mikayla anyway??) Michael, I love you!!

Very sweet! And good job on the tough rhymes. I can't rhyme worth anything so I go free-form :o)

Hey, it's the thought that counts, and I'm sure he loved it! I'll have to take a peek through your archives... is Jocelyn a bun in the oven? And am I correct in assuming you're LDS? My best friend growing up was/is and the religion has always fascinated me. Thanks for stopping by. You and your hubby are a cute couple!

Love it! And you'll love having it too. After 20 years of marriage, I love looking back at the cute things we said and did as newlyweds. So fun.

Between the two of you and your creativity, you should start a scrapbook for these things for your kids to look at.
You are both adorable.
This was a good job. Poetry doesn't always mean sing song and with sound alike words. It is what is in your hearts and you have lots to share.
