Nuestro Cinco de Mayo

I got another award! I'm so happy that people actually like my blog! Thanks to The Mrs. for giving it to me! We are both young married ladies married to cops :-). Oh, and without kids! Haha.

I am going to hand this one off to Stacy over at Stacy Says. Her blog always has a bunch of random facts that make me laugh.

So as we all know, yesterday was Cinco de Mayo. I try to always be sure I have some Mexican food on this day of the year. I don't really "party" or anything... I just like to sort of acknowledge the holiday.

But yesterday was Michaels first night off since Sunday night so we needed to take time to get more things moved out of our old apartment. With the help of Michaels dad and his truck we were able to move two dressers and our bed frame. Then we picked up our friend Patrick (who lives across the hall from us now!) and he helped us take our washer and dryer to our storage unit.

After all of that Michael and I finally got to go eat dinner! It was almost 9:00 pm by that time but we still managed to find a Mexican restaurant by our new place. At first it was really fun because there were a ton of youngsters that were laughing and walking around. There was music playing pretty loudly too. But then the waiter forgot about us. They asked us if we wanted our check before we even got our food.

Two different ladies that worked there (who by the way were wearing casual clothes...flaunting everything they had in front of everyone! GRRR!) were not communicating or something because we had to repeat several times that we had not been served yet.

The college students were drinking more and more, getting louder and louder. Taking pictures that I am sure are all up on facebook by now...it just got really annoying. TERRIBLE service. I'm hoping it isn't always like that because the food was pretty good. Oh and they never did bring us a check. We waited and waited and it was late so I wanted to just leave the money on the table and go but Michael was afraid of someone stealing it. So we got up and walked up to someone behind the counter, handed them money and left. It was weird. But oh well! We still got our Mexican food!

What did you guys all do for Cinco de Mayo, if anything?

Wow that sucks about the service at the restaurant.

My boyfriend and I went out to dinner at a mexican restaurant with 3 other couples. The food was bleh but the drinks were great. I had 3 margaritas.

at least you had good mexican food I guess. Hopefully the poor service had to deal with it being a holiday.

Normally I make Mexican for dinner, but in all honesty I totally forgot altogether. Oops. I will have to have a Mexican night another night. What a crazy restaurant.

Got to the panaderia just in time for some fresh, warm mexican sweet bread to come out of the ovens, which I delivered to my kids' classes. You shoulda smelled it - heavenly!
